My thoughts on Design Sprint
Design Sprint is an activity to let you get ahead of a problem/challenge. it’s invented by Jake Knapp
Design sprint ‘s been usually held to show up different ideas, different perspectives from many participants.
Two types of design sprints
1- Internal. It’s usually held with your teammates. When?. Once you’ve a challenging project, big or complicated problem, or you need different perspectives.
2- External. It ‘s held with stakeholders. When?. Once you need to onboard client with you, you want them to be involved in your process, they share their ideas. It gives them a sense of ownership.
Difference between Design Thinking, Design Sprint in one sentence?
Design thinking is a philosophy you build your hypothesis with, but design sprint is a practical arm of design thinking to come out with many ideas.
Design Sprint Agenda:
1- Onboard participants with product history, its challenges
2- Identify How might we
3- Define Design Principles
4- Vote on the most 3 relevant principles
5- Draw Crazy 8 sketches.
6- Sketch Big one (solution).
If you’re a sprint facilitator. You should
1- Be energetic, enthusiastic.
2- Have a clearly defined problem, challenges.
3- Onboard participants with a walkthrough project scope, what has been done, client amendments.
4- Engage participants with you. Make sure everyone engaged, aligned with you.
5- Document as you go.
6- Vote on ideas. You have 3 votes.
If you’re a Participant. You should
1- Make sure you understand the problem/challenges well.
2- Be engaged with everyone, the facilitator. Ask him if you need that.
3- the funniest / challenging part is to participate with your rough sketches, ideas in crazy 8 sketches / 5 minutes exercise.
4- Learn from other peers’ ideas.
5- Vote on the most relevant ideas, you have 3 votes
